MILES DAVIS & BAND - Bluing Part 1 & 2 Prestige Records (cat# 846) Original 1951 DJ Promo 78 RPM Pressing
This is a very nice DJ Promo copy of Miles Davis "and Band" performing the song Bluing which is split into 2 parts. It was recorded in October 1951 and released a few weeks later on Prestige (cat # 846). This all-star band includes Sonny Rollins, Jackie McLean, Walter Bishop, Tommy Porter and Art Blakey! The record is in VG+ condition, it does have some light scuffing and scratching - nothing serious or audible - it looks nice for a 60+ year old 78. The light blue & white promo labels look nice as well, there is some visible spindle wear under bright light and some light staining on the b-side center hole. It plays with surface noise and 1or 2 pops and like many 78s, this record will only benefit from a good thorough cleaning. It's not very often that you will find a Miles Davis DJ promo 78 rpm record, this is your chance to bid on one.
