Bileo “You can win” 3:30 / “Let’s Go” 4:30 (M.T.U. / Watts City Records) original American 7” vinyl single out of Los Angeles, California. These orange label 45s are the first press and precede the later blue label ones. Massively in demand double sider - top side is wonderful joyous up tempo modern soul, flip is quality boogie. Sound clip added for your consideration. Matrixes: scratched BW101-A L351 / BW101-B L351-X Vinyl: super lovely full shine & gloss both sides – Excellent plus. Label: super clean orange paper with black text – Excellent. Sleeve: plain white paper For those that like to read stories behind the record: It’s so bizarre and a touch sad I guess but I could never remember my mother’s birthday yet I can recall details of where and when I purchased hundreds of records over the years. Mmmm? (Note to self: discuss this during next session with Therapist) Pretty sure I bought this record sometime mid 1980’s (?) after hearing it played on the northern/modern scene at the time as a “new discovery”. Purchased from the vinyl legend that is Barrie Waddington at an all-dayer somewhere in Wigan, can’t recall name of the club but I’m fairly sure it was at the place now known as Wigan Pier Nightspot (which according to Wikipedia is a club which plays music predominantly from the bouncy house genre.) Two other snippets I do vividly remember were the DJ booth mounted inside a big green frog’s head high up in the wall over looking the dance floor. Honest. And Mister Barrie actually had 2 copies of this 45 in his hand held sales box and he lured me into buying both with a little discount offered. Opposite the Wigan Pier nightspot on the other side of the canal is or should I say was the home of the legendary Orwell Soul nights where the likes of DJ’s Steve Plumb & Flanny aired their choice selections of rare soul. For anybody wanting more information including photographs regarding the Wigan Pier area please visit www.penninewaterways.co.uk/ll/wiganpier.htm Any/All sound clips and record scans added are taken from the actual copy on offer here.
Postage: UK first class large letter £1.50p; Europe air mail small packet £2; Rest of the World air mail small packet £3.
Paypal is fine for all buyers where ever you may live in this big mad world and it’s the only method of payment I will accept for overseas buyers.
UK buyers can still pay with a good old fashioned cheque if they want to (please contact me for more details).
Due to the rarity and value of this 45 in order to protect both the winner and myself I will only post this record with some form of postal insurance attached. Paid by the winner extra at cost. But please wait for an invoice from me stating total cost before making payment.
And of course I will gladly combine postage for multiple purchases but please wait for an invoice from me before making payment.
What reasons do people give for not offering combined postage?
All records are well packed with care and obsessive attention and generally posted within a couple of days after payment received.
I try and grade all records as honestly and accurately as my eyes and ears will allow. But please I’m from Up North and if you think I’ve made a mistake get in touch straight away and a solution will be found.
Proof of postage is obtained for every item to aid tracking, recovery and compensation in the rare event of damage or loss whilst in the care of the Post Office. Please check my other records for sale if time and inclination permits.
Onwards,
