Description
the cover looks much better than the photographs. I have seen this record sell for $500 in this condition, and I have heard it's sold for more in certain well-known countries! this is the super rare original 1969 British pressing on Fontana STL 5491. stereo. gatefold cover. I guess I should have put this in the Folk category, but that's not quite adequate. this record rarely comes up for sale, and almost never in this beautiful condition. The cover is solid new minus, you can see a little white in the lower right corner that seems to be from a tiny cut out hole punch, no splits very minimal corner wear. the record appears to be unplayed except for one or ttwo spindle lines on each side of the label. definitely a keeper.
/////// I have sold many rare records, worldwide, for over 20 years. My grading is considered very accurate, my feedbacks will give you some idea. ALL records are original Pressings unless otherwise stated. I grade records visually, usually. Cover graded first then vinyl, .
////////////RECORD GRADING ::: FS=Factory Sealed. /// New= New (or Mint) perfect in every way, record appears unplayed. /// New- = New minus (or Mint minus), record played maybe 1 to 9 times , perhaps a few spindle lines on label, and maybe a sleeve line or two. Covers close to M, has maybe a small corner bend, maybe the very slightest of ring line caused by the record./// VG+ = Very Good Plus, record played a little more than an m- but well cared for. Vinyl has the vast majority of its original luster, may have sleeve lines, maybe a few very lite scuffs; maybe one or two small, very light surface scratches. But not all at the same time. Cover MAY have very minor ringwear, maybe a few other flaws, a minor corner bend or two, maybe a small partial seam split; /// VG = record has the flaws of a VG+, only more of them; may also have some small scratches that are felt with a fingernail. Vinyl is very playable and will play through, good luster. Probably some noise between tracks, maybe in quiet passages. Still, a reasonably well cared for record. /// VG- = proportionally lower than a VG.//// G-It is rare that I will even list a record in this condition; but it will be proportionally lower than a VG-. .//////// ABBREVIATIONS : *=stereo, OIS= original inner sleeve, cc= cut corner, co=cut out, ss=seam split. soc= sticker on cover; toc = tape on cove, woc= writing on cover, sol = sticker on label , wol = writing on label.tr= tape repair.~~~~CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS~~~~ ~~~Win more items & save on shipping~~~Please see Payment instructions for shipping rates~~~

If the following pressing information sent to me is true, then this record is absolutely a first press. The info is as follows: "An original pressing has: UK FONTANA BLACK LABEL with SILVER PRINT CAT. NUMBER - STL.5491 (886 496 TY) MATRIX NUMBERS.- 1 Y # 1 .. / .. 2 Y # 1"
Also, I answer another question toward the bottom of the page.
