Description
Here's a smashing, truly killer album from 1975 by this Turkish keyboard player named Metin Alatli. He had played with 60s Turkish legendary garage band Siluetler and then worked as session and/or stage musician for as different names as Johnny Hallyday, Adamo etc. in Europe and on returning to Turkey near mid70s, he decided to make an album of Turkish music interpreted on moog. What came out is a blasting performance of vintage electronica and insane Turkish moog funk!! There's also a nice dash of sitar and authentic percussion on the album besides their very funky "a groovier ELP with fez on their heads!" like sound and the whole album captures a strange power that carries you through the whole disc!! The last track is very much interesting as it generates from a similar stream of thought between eastern and western philosophy actually, that's why they used the music of 2001 (althought it sounds cheesy & fun, there's some logic behind it). Amazing, amazing and super rare album!!
The copy we have here is an interesting one. This album came out under two different sleeves back then, noone knows why and how. I now have both the sleeves but only one record!!.. and the winning bidder will receive both sleeves (one in VG, other in VG++ shape) and the disc. Disc is visibly VG+, audibly much much better, nearing EX! It has plenty of thin hairlines visible under light but pressing was really good, grooves are still healthy, it's so obvious the previous owner(s) took care in listening with good needles and also did not listen to this too much. Plays with super low surface noise. Hear samples taken from this very disc!!
