Description

PHONE CALL FROM HEAVEN

"Featuring THE BEST IN THE DELTA"

MICHAL/ GOSPEL EXPRESS

Cover is still in wraps. It has a serious ding / creasing in the upper right hand side -- it might have been a pressing defect? Looks to have been sealed that way. Let's call it VG+.
Vinyl is NM, awesome shape both sides.

Classic gospel funk soul with sermon record in Very Rare condition.

"Amazing comp from the Gospel Express crew. One side is the Bishop preaching - the other side is all top notch tracks from the Gospel Express roster: Gospel Writers, Mississippi Nightingales, Noah's Ark, Spirit of Memphis, Gene Martin, Lula Collins and Masonic Travelers. Great mix of more traditional rural gospel, to more modern soul sounding tracks, to cool lo-fi howlers."

Both sides are great, I think -- you'll never hear Lula Collins sing quite as amazingly as she does in this one song here recorded in church, plus it's a very poignant and funny sermon from the Bishop. I used a few songs for 'Fire in My Bones' compilation.

Enjoy!
