Description
This auction is for Korn's original demo tape. I bought it at Lou's Records in Encinitas, CA when I was in high school (14 years ago). Soon afterwards, I had it signed at Korn's first record release party at Off the Record in San Diego. They were thrilled to see the old demo tape and even commented on how rare it was. Jonathan, Fieldy, and Munky all signed the sleeve. Fieldy wrote "AH F*%K Yeah!" on the inside cover. Jonathan signed "Old School, Thanks". Munky signed his name.
The tape is in very good condition and plays beautifully. It has been sitting in storage since my high school days. The demo features 3 tracks that would later appear on the first album in different incarnations. They are "Predictable", "Blind" and "Daddy". These versions are very different. It is interesting to see how their sound evolved between the demo and the Self Titled debut. The 4th track "Alive" would later appear on "Take a Look in the Mirror". The sleeve is slightly worn. The heavy creases in the insert are original. All the demos looked like this. They appear to be handmade. The demo features lyrics, and old contact info for booking. This is a must have collectors item for any enthusiastic Korn fan.
