Description
All records are cleaned and play-tested (this one has been cleaned x 2). Stereo SHVL 804 1973 The Gramaphone Company Limited A2/B2. The gatefold sleeve is exactly what you expect with this LP. It shows signs of fraying around the edges, some ringwear, other wear & tear and ageing. Not brilliant but nothing really wrong with it. A few "invisible" imprint marks (including one for £2.25!). The white inner TNI12247111N is included but the LP will be in a new white plain one. There are no original extras. The labels are fine, the spindle marks suggest it has been played a fair bit (as it should have been!). The LP retains quite a bright lustre but there are surface marks especially on side 1. A few marks on side 1 look concerning but I will call them surface marks as opposed to actual scratches. Both sides play through without anything nasty at all. Side 1 has a little surface noise and the odd, isolated crackle especially in the quieter sections (like the very start). Side 2 looks much better by comparison but has the occasional, more noticeable crackle. I can see one very tiny scratch mark in the middle section of side 2 but there may be one or two more to explain the crackles (I do not have specialised viewing equipment). The very end of side 2 is not perfect either.
If you decide to bid, you will already know the sound on this LP is stunning. The depth of sound is considerably better than on my mastered copy but I will keep playing that one and hope for a windfall to buy a near mint solid triangle in the future! If I have to grade this LP in play, I will go for VG+ overall. I repeat, there are no skips or jumps and it plays through perfectly well. I always offer a no quibble return if you are not satisfied with the description; because this LP will attract quite a sum, I especially emphasise that point here. This copy is certainly not mint but it's still a great, really powerful LP despite the odd crackling.
