LONG PLAY LP record:
YES "Close To The Edge" (Atlantic K 50012) original 1972 UK genuine 1st pressing (orange/green label)
STUNNING ORIGINAL UK FIRST PRESSING! Beautiful condition. Fully textured gatefold sleeve (textured on both inside and outside) with metallic silver ink on logo, and impossibly rare A1/B1 matrix stampers. Add to this the "1" and "1" mother stampers and you have one of the very earliest pressings of the first press! Complete with lyric inner, with rough paper texture inside. Labels have a groove 1cm from spindle.
Matrix: K 50012 A1 (mother 1 and 1) and K 50012 B1 (mother 1 and 1 7)

DESCRIPTION : Record in lovely condition - just a few hairline scuffs, probably only played a handful of times - full gloss. Labels pristine. Cover shows the very lightest of wear, and is in superb shape. Spine totally sharp, no edge rubbing (minimal edge rubbing on bottom edge - but only as you'd expect pulling a record off the shelf a few times!). Inner sleeve is very fragile (and record has sharp edges) resulting in a 2" seam split and some creasing - so more like VG+. (I decided to keep this original inner sleeve, since this obviously came with this very first pressing - it has no mention of a printers and has rougher paper on the inside. All later pressings I have seen mention "Gothic Print finishers" under the catalogue number - I can supply one of these inners (in EX condition) to the winning bidder if desired.). Record will be supplied in fresh inner sleeve to avoid any further damage in transit. An all round beauty! You won't find a better copy in a long while!

SMALL PRINT : I am first and foremost a collector, and grade strictly as I wish everyone would. Records will be well-packed between cardboard, and sent in record mailers. In the interests of the environment, these will be recycled whenever possible. Albums will be removed from outer sleeve to avoid seam splits in transit. All records are sent with a certificate of posting, if you wish anything extra please ask – I cannot be held responsible for missing parcels.
