Description
"William Aura - Half Moon Bay (1987)
William Aura is the stage name of Bill Byerley, a long forgotten pioneer in new age, synth music. His ninth album, 1987's Half Moon Bay is an immersive, brilliant piece that gets better with each listen.
He had prolific output which is limited to mostly cassettes and later on CD. This is sole album pressed on vinyl (that I am aware of*).
Soaring synths, rain-forest jungle vibes, an aura (pun intended) of other worldly experience, Half Moon Bay delivers every promise of new age music. This album is a manifestation of the entire aesthetic attempted by "vaporwave" music from 2011.
Cannot recommend this album enough to vaporwave fans. I have mixed emotions about most of the genre, and to a larger extent new age music too. I want to like so much of it, but only a few releases have truly connected with me, such as James Ferraro's Far Side Virtual.”

*Hi, I'm William Aura's son, when I found out people were liking this album I thought it was pretty rad. I slept on top of his studio playing with my Commodore64 when he recorded this album and I know it note for note haha. There was only one pressing of the LP because CD's just came out and they thought it wouldn't sell, that it would be out dated. THIS IS ONE HE SIGNED, IT'S THE SLEEVE ONLY BUT I WILL SHIP A SEALED COPY TOO, and I'd love it to go to someone who would appreciate it! I have a few other that are sealed I'll put up later without the promo sleeve, this record has never been played (I had the CD for my Sony discman). This is for ONE signed promo sleeve AND ONE sealed copy of 1987's Half Moon Bay. RARE
