Description

*** New Orleans Jazz Legends ***
From the collection of a dutch female collector who sadly passed away years ago. Her records where kept by a family member. She started buying Jazz in the early 30s and expanded her taste to Blues when the first pioneering reissues were released in the 50s.  She worked as a translator and for her job she traveled to France, Germany, Italy, England...picking up records along the way.
Rare 1952 vinyl mini LP with "I'm guessing" late 40s or early 50s recordings by one of the greatest Jazzmen to ever touch an instrument Sidney Bechet.
Great Stuff!!!   While living in Paris two old friends Sidney knew from back in the States dropped by and recorded these sides.
Sidney Bechet (May 14, 1897 – May 14, 1959) was an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer. He was one of the first important soloists in jazz (beating cornetist and trumpeter Louis Armstrong to the recording studio by several months and later playing duets with him) and was perhaps the first notable jazz saxophonist.
Lil Hardin Armstrong (February 3, 1898 – August 27, 1971) was a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, singer, and bandleader. She was the second wife of Louis Armstrong, with whom she collaborated on many recordings in the 1920s.
Arthur James "Zutty" Singleton (May 14, 1898 – July 14, 1975) was one of New Orleans most celebrated Jazz drummers.
