Description
*** 1920s Blues hero ***
From the collection of a dutch female collector who sadly passed away years ago. Her records where kept by a family member. She started buying Jazz in the early 30s and expanded her taste to Blues when the first pioneering reissues were released in the 50s. She worked as a translator and for her job she traveled to France, Germany, Italy, England...picking up records along the way.
1954 vinyl mini LP compilation of recordings by our favorite Gutbucket-Blues Trombone player Ike Rodgers. All of these recordings were released on 78 by the Paramount label in the 1920s. Great raw St Louis Blues with Ike backing singers Edith Johnson and Alice Moore. Piano by St Louis giants Henry Brown and Roosevelt Sykes and some wonderful cornet work by Baby Jay.
