For sale is an exceedingly scarce original Edison Diamond Disc Master from 1924 by Placide Morency "O Sole Mio."
This is an original master, which are pretty much unheard of. As I understand it, the originals have been preserved and aren't really available on the market. This rare exception was a gift from the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation to a wealthy financier, James E. Howe, as a token of appreciation for his work with the foundation on the 100th anniversary of Edison's invention of the phonograph. My guess is that it will be a long time before another original master hits the market, as this was only released as a gift in special circumstances.
