Description

    Artist: GJan Garbarek Trio & Quartet Record: Til Vigdis Label: NJF  Year: 1967
Condition LP / Cover: VG++ / VG++

I am very glad to be able to offer this very special historical jazz piece from Norway. A very very rare record and the debut album of the internationally acclaimed saxophone player Jan Garbarek. Released in small quantities back in the sixties this album has remained as one of the real holy grails of Norwegian record collecting. Musically this is Garbarek’s pre ECM period where he was inspired by the likes of John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and Albert Ayler.  Other members of the quartet feature the fine drumming of Jon Christensen and internationally renown base player Arild Andersen. Liner-notes are by Karin Krog. Check this link for complete track list and musicians involved.  Notes on the grading, the record has been played I believe two or three times. I was close to grading it near mint. The cover has a tiny tear on the bottom seam, but  superficial. Pristine Condition!

This item simply does not turn up. Needless to say this item will be shipped registered.

Also auctioned is two very rare Norwegian PROG albums by the group Junipher Greene, check friendship and communication.
