On this scarce single Kiddus I is pictured in two photos swinging a bat in both poised and follow-thru positions. Frank "Kiddus I" Dowding gained an international audience with his riveting performace of "Graduation In Zion" in the crucial reggae film ROCKERS. One of the prime movers behind Oxford Road, an artists' collective in Kingston, Kiddus I presents a another thoughtful song on the inequitable economical system where times just get "Harder" for the sufferer. I spent an evening at Kiddus I's home in Kingston in January of 1982 where he signed this stiff cardboard cover Jamaican sleeve. (He also played I & I demo versions of two Kiddus I albums, neither of which have been released to this day. What a shame!) The dub features another hard performance x-rayed extension from Kiddus and crew. A rare and sophisticated achievement in word sound power passion. Time hard, music harder. The ORIGINAL Jamaican vinyl on Kiddus' Shepherd label is in excellent condition, with no warp, no skips, no scratch. No hand writing on either label. The ORIGINAL thick cardboard Jamaican sleeve is HAND SIGNED BY KIDDUS I and is also in near mint shape with no split seams (see closeup photo). Sleeve is inscribed by Kiddus: 'One Love Doug Wendt KIDDUS I'. Backet of jacket is same artwork as on front minus Kiddus' writing. Made in Jamaica. Disc label reads 'Dist. by: Tuff Gong (C) (P) 1980'. Kiddus I swings for the fence and makes a grand slam. Batter up.
