LP "The Beatles Second Album" - TheBeatles - Capitol #ST 2080. "The Beatles Second Album" really shouldhave been called "The Beatles Second Album On Capitol Records". Thealbum was actually their third album released in the USA as "IntroducingThe Beatles" on Vee Jay records was released three months earlier."The Beatles Second Album" replaced "Meet The Beatles" atnumber one on the U.S. Album charts.
The Beatles' Second Album was the first album of the group's work to beassembled by Capitol Records exclusively for the American market (as opposedto, say, Meet the Beatles!, which was a reconfigured and shortened version ofWith the Beatles). As such, it offends some historical purists, who don't thinkof it as a real album. Regardless of its origins, however, The Beatles' SecondAlbum stands as probably best pure rock & roll album ever issued of thegroup's music. In the process of pulling songs from various British andAmerican EPs, singles (including "She Loves You") and B-sides, as wellas tracks left over from the editing of With the Beatles for American release,the compilers somehow managed to avoid any trace of the pop ballads favored byPaul McCartney that usually slowed down the group's other early albums, and theresult was the longest uninterrupted body of hard rock & roll and R&Bin their entire output. No other long-player by the group featured them doingmore covers of songs by black American artists or songwriters, including LittleRichard("Long Tall Sally"), Chuck Berry ("Roll Over Beethoven"),Smokey Robinson ("You Really Got a Hold on Me"), Barrett Strong("Money"), and others, and just to show how rich a vein this all wasat the time of its release, the version of "Roll Over Beethoven" hereactually charted briefly as a single, while "Long Tall Sally" servedas their concert finale.

"SecondAlbum" Stereo Capitol ST 2080 Sealed RIAA#12
This is the Stereo Version released by Capitol records (ST 2080). This album isstill factory sealed and is absolutely beautiful. The record label is unknown;however, the album is identified with the "Scranton, PA- Los Angeles,Calif." pressing plant see (Bottom of back cover) & RIAA#12. Thispressing plant was in use from (Early 1960s- Early 1970s.) In addition, thealbum does have the "Gold Record Award" seal which makes it a laterversion. My guess, it is more than likely a Capitol (Green Dot) label or Applelabel (Without Capitol Logo) these label versions were released 1969-1971, butI am not sure.
