Description
The Doors
Jim Morrison
Release Date 01/04/67
SS/w STICKERS
This album was purchase 01/12/67 at Floyds Record Shop in Ville Platte, Louisiana. It’s from my own personal collection. It’s been stored in Mylar storage sleeve in climate controlled environment. There are no bends, dents or record ring wear on cover.
All 1st US pressing have “Printed in USA” on Jim Morrison shirt collar on back cover of album.
This sale is for a factory sealed copy of self titled album "The Doors" the 1st LP by the Doors. This is an original 1st
US release from 1967 (1st pressing) on Elektra EKS-74007 in stereo. This album would be one that would be found as a, 1st issue with the brown labels. The record is still sealed with stickers. To find an album in this condition is extremely rare in sealed condition. The songs are "Break On Through (To The Other Side)", "Soul Kitchen", "The Crystal Ship", "Twentieth Century Fox", "Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)", "Light My Fire", "Back Door Man", "I Looked At You", "End Of The Night", "Take It As It Comes" & "The End". Super nice!
**NOTE: This is a Original first US stereo pressing and 1st release (STEREO) were released on a ''tan'' label. As this album is. Since it was cheaper to press the album in different plants in the US then to ship them across large areas, many small differences in the artwork on the labels can be found. This includes different fonts, different placing of the word ''stereo'' and colors varying from a coffee brown to pale gold. All these should be different entries in Discos. Please look carefully at the label image before you decide to add the US pressing to your collection. Still later pressings have red labels and after that ''butterfly'' labels. There were 46 variations of this album of re-issues and so forth.
***Pontential Bidders: Please note the price I've listed the bid on this album is a fair listing price, please check popsike.com or and see what albums of this condition as SS w/Stickers and being a 1st USA stereo release and 1st pressing have previously auction for. If this album had been a 1st release (MONO) and SS /w Stickers it would be worth serveral thousand $$$$
