Description
I recently had the good fortune to buy a big collection of both 60's AND 80's Garage, Punk & Psychedelic LPs and 7"s from a trusted collector who bought them all at the time...and who'd kept them so well...anything he bought new was still MINT or M- (true, there were also a few old original 60's items in whatever condition he found them in)...but the bottom line is, he had amazingly good taste, and the gems he had were carefully handpicked for excellence.
Anyway, this is one of that collection.

There are very few 45s from this era with as much melody and killer musicianship as this...they mighta been a bunch o' punk kids with bugger-all but a load o' street-suss and a head-full of melodies'n'hooks, but they put it to good use and went in and recorded this phukkin' awesome 45, and played their hearts out doing so...Sonny Vincent's vocals have never sounded better than on this...there's a tonne been written about them since and there's a load of killer other tracks on youtube, so you get to be ultra-hip to them now, but at the time...phew, there were none better, and so few knew them...I fluked seeing them at some club above Columbus Circle in Jan.'79, way before this came out, and they were beyond awesome...squeezed in between 2 glam bands, I got hauled along there by some girl who knew the headlining cock-rockers who were woeful (she loved em), but these guys just blew me away...this 45 hardly ever comes up, but remains one of the greatest double-siders ever committed to vinyl friggin' ANYWHERE, and is thus, utterly essential...I couldn't believe it when I spotted it in this guy's collection...nice to have one to sell, coz I'd never part with my own...
