Description
The Graham Collier Septet album "Deep dark blue centre", this is the original 1967 issue and is on the Decca manufactured "Deram" record label. This is the stereo version SML 1005 catalogue number.
I have graded both the Disc and the sleeve as "Excellent", this is using the UK Record collector grading system. In no way do i suggest that the overall package is "mint" or "near mint", although by studying the supplied images you'll understand this. For example the sleeve displays the following, to the top left corner of the sleeve's rear you'll note that the retailer who originally sold the record has written their own stock reference number on it. in addition, there is the slightest hint of age related shade changing apparent to the extreme edges. Taking a look at the laminated front i see a small thumb mark crease where the sleeve has been pulled back when the disc has been removed. There is also a small area where the lamination has lifted from the printed area, now take a look at the image that shows the lower left corner of the outer sleeve, here, you will see a crease running across this corner. please take a look at the spine edge images that i have provided.
Moving on to the Disc, i rate this as already mentioned as being in "Excellent" condition as per the description given using the UK Record Collector guide. I have played this Record a couple of times over the years and again recently and can report that i did not hear anything that was of concern, the original Decca issue polyphene lined inner sleeve is present and i have included an image of this, it features no damage except for (if you can term it as damage) evidence that the corner has been turned in order to assist in reinserting it back into the outer jacket, incidentally, for all of the years that this record has been in my posession the disc has been stored in a soft poly sleeve as the originals are known to leave residue on the vinyl. The Disc has only ever been played using very high quality phono cartridges and correctly adjusted tonearms.
The record will be thoroughly and safely packaged for its journey to you and the usual precaution of removing the disc and its inner from the outer sleeve is something that i always do to stop the disc from punching its way through the top edge.
