Description
THE JAZZ SCENE 6 RECORD SET. Encased in a black portfolio album. The six records are in individual envelope covers, spiral bound into the portfolio album, and slotted in between the RARE booklet [Folio size] of photography of the biggest names in JAZZ. There are stunning photographs of legends like CHARLIE PARKER, LESTER YOUNG, DUKE ELLINGTON, COLEMAN HAWKINS, GENE KRUPA, RALPH BURNS, BUD POWELL, ELLA FITZGERALD,ART TATUM, COUNT BASIE, SARAH VAUGHN, BILLIE HOLIDAY, DIZZY GILLESPIE E.T.C. Norman Granz produced this enterprise with his own money, and issued it in a LIMITED EDITION of 5000 copies, all SIGNED by him.
The six records are issued on the MERCURY Label. [1] DUKE ELLINGTON [2]NEAL HEFTI/CHARLIE PARKER [3]COLEMAN HAWKINS/LESTER YOUNG [4]RALPH BURNS/GEORGE HANDY [5]CHARLIE PARKER/WILLIE SMITH [6]MACHITO/BUD POWELL. Photograps by GJON MILI. Except for photo of Ralph Burns which is by Harold Trudeau, and photo of Bud Powell, which is by Paul Nodler. The original double page illustration by David Martin is missing. The only damage is a two inch tear in one of the record envelopes (shown in the third picture). FINE CONDITION THROUGHOUT. NOTHING BROKEN, NOTHING LOOSE. NO INK WRITING except for Granz's signature.
The records are in VG+ condition. I have not played them but they are bright and appear to have only superficial scratches and scuffs.
The postal card is missing, all of the pages and photographs are present and undamaged.
Priority mail to France ( 6-10 days) would cost $61.50 , plus such insurance as you desire.
The records would be properly packed.
