Columbia 14051-D Bessie Smith Sing Sing Prison Blues Dying Gambler's Blues As I understand it, this was recorded by the Empress of the Blues on December 6 and 7, 1924. The songs are Sing Sing Prison Blues (Porter Grainger and Freddie Johnson) accompanied by clarinet and piano. The other side is the Dying Gambler's Blues (Jack Gee) accompanied by trombone and piano. We go to a lot of sales and see a lot of Bing Crosby, imagine the excitement when we found a Bessie Smith.

This record is in good shape. It's not absolutely perfect (a small number of soft pops), but if you use audio fixup software like we do, you'll get a very nice recording. We collect, record and release 78's. Ebay is our outlet store. We only post records once so if you see one and want it, please buy it. We do not re-list them. Most of our stuff is jazz or western swing, but we are adventurers. We have been advised to learn how to grade records. We are old retired folks who have no interest in learning a new trade. We do our best to be accurate and we don't sell things that are in poor condition.    About shipping: Priority and International rates vary, and will be provided upon request. Multiple wins can be combined to reduce shipping costs. All items are packed with care and insurance is included.   California Buyers: we pay California State Sales Tax on all California transactions. Don't fret, it's on us!
