Description
Up for auction is a scarce 78 by Bud Blue and His Orchestra on Okeh Electric label # 41466.This 78 was release during the height of the depression in late October of 1930.Many people could not afford the luxury of being able to purchase a 78 hence making this somewhat scarce.According to the Jazz website I searched Bud Blue and His Orchestra is actually a Psuedonym for Fred Rich and His Orchestra.His Orchestra on this very 78 included both Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey.It also includes Joe Venuti,Eddie Lang,Mannie Klein,Bill Moore,Stan King and Smith Ballew.The site said this was recorded on October 29th 1930 in NYC.This is on Okeh Electric label # 41466.Matrix # is 404533 and 404538.This 78 has the smaller version label of the Okeh Electric version that came out during the early 1930s.The songs are titled Someone Sang A Sweeter Song To Mary on one side and has I'll Be Blue Just Thinking Of You on the other side.The Someone Sang A Sweeter Song About Mary side is in Gorgeous condition with extremely light to light scratches and a few small extremely light scuffs.Label and hole in Beautiful condition also.The I'll Be Blue Just Thinking Of You side is Beautiful but not as Beautiful as the other side.Has extremely light to light scratches with 2 very small scratches towards the end of song I can feel with fingernail.Label and hole on this side also in Beautiful condition.Both sides of record look to have quite abit of groove wear see picture but records still a Beauty and both sides have lots of shine.The Mary side has more shine than the I'll be Blue side as the I'll be blue side has a bit more wear including a noticeable groove wear line.Still is a Gorgeous 78.I played this 78 and it plays with a medium background hiss when treble is halfway up and a few light ticks here and there.Plays with a low hiss when treble is adjusted on low.Plays very nicely all the way through.Also has a sleeve which has the original label with song title,Record number and original 75 cent price in the upper right corner see picture.I'll be listing other Jazz 1920s 1930s 78 over the next few weeks.Please check if interested.I also combine multiple auctions to save on shipping.If the buyer is not 100% satiafied I have a return for refund policy on all records I sell.Please check shipping charges near bottom of auction page.E Mail for Foreign shipping rates.
