Description

Extremely rare 1987 Official RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) certified Gold sales award for the Fat Boys and Beach Boys Tin Pan Apple/Polygram album "Crushin" which was the Fat Boys 4th Hip Hop album and went top ten on the Billboard Chart in the US. It is best known in the UK as it included the smash hit "Wipe Out" with the Beach Boys (a cover of the Sufaris' 1963 hit featuring the Beach Boys). This is a Gold award for sales of more than 500,000 copies in the US and has official red backing and hologram. Awarded to Phil Casey, who I think was their agent, and assisted in the promotion of the album and from a clearance of their offices. The award is glazed in the official black laminated frame of its era and made by Dee Jay products who manufactured these items for RIAA. Both record and tape on display are plated to look like Gold. Some minor marks from storage as never displayed. Otherwise excellent and close to Mint condition. Fair price for rarity of item and condition. Proper (not faked) RIAA awards do not come up often (and not many with associations to the groups). Best offer available. Only international shipping through GSP, so they set charges for postage and I cannot negotiate - sorry. Any questions please ask?
