Description
45 rpm single by Elvis Presley Thats All Right / Blue Moon of Kentucky. in Fair condition, but like other of Elvis's Sun recordings plays with lots of hiss. This particular disc is Cracked from the edge of label inside the dead wax, but not unto the playing grooves. Does play with pops and scratches, but better than most others in this condition. One day I was cleaning and it snap at start of the label circumference, unto the dead wax part only. I had found this record in Balch Springs Texas along with other records from that same era. I knew it was an original from her other records. Later i did learn that records from the early Sun recordings had three push maks, where the record was push out when manufacturing those 4 early recordings of Elvis. The fifth one they release MYSTERY TRAIN does not have push marks. So this one is original Sun recording. Plays nicely considering its age. But its intact and enjoyed listening to it for some time now. Record has been clean with a professional liquid cleaner. DISC CLEANER solution. Elvis first record ever recorded in Aug of 54. I was 6 months old then, maybe thats why i'm a big fan of the King, being born the same year...Lol
Look on top of the N letter, where it says Sun. You can see the crack starting from the edge of record and crossing two grooves but not crossing the third line, thats where the crack is. Not disturbing its Playing.
THE NIGHTCAPS, one of the first widely known white blues bands, were formed by high school frienThe Nightcapsds Billy Joe Shine (vocals), David Swartz (guitar), Jack Allday (drums), Mario Daboub (bass) and Gene Haufler (rhythm guitar) in 1958. Over the years they became fixtures on their local Dallas, Texas blues scene, greatly influencing the blues and R&B acts that subsequently prospered in the region. As well as performing blues standards such as Muddy Waters' "I've Got My Mojo Working" and Junior Parker's "Next Time You See Me", The Nightcaps wrote several affecting originals. The most noteworthy of these were the singles "Thunderbird" and "Wine, Wine, Wine". "Thunderbird" was later covered by devotees ZZ Top early in their career. During this period, they became a major influence on such future luminaries as Jimmie Vaughan -- who apparently learned every song off the Nightcaps' LP -- and his younger brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan, who thought Wine, Wine, Wine was just a great record, and ZZ Top. Vaughan would later record "Thunderbird," and ZZ Top used it to open their Fandango album. Billy Joe Shine still leads a revival version of the band in the Dallas area with Lead Guitarist(an original Nightcap)Gene Haufler, along with Len Mills on Rhythm Guitar and Keyboard, and brother Dennis Mills on Bass, Mark Minton on Drums, and Richard Williams on Saxophone.
Sound clip is from "Thats All Right" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky"
