Description
ELVIS PRESLEY Scotty and Bill, "That's All Right", Sun Records 209, 45 RPM. B side is "Blue Moon of Kentucky". This is Elvis' first commercial release.
So - condition - it's not great - probably rates "Good". Heavy wear, lots of surface scratches. I have not cleaned this at all !! I don't have proper cleaning tools/gear, so I have left this entirely as I found it (with a collection of other 45s of the same era at a junk store). I didn't even run a damp rag or anything over it - so you get the original dust, too.
I think my photos show it as well as possible, though the color of the label is washed out. It's really the original yellow, not faded. It sits flat, no deep gouges, edges not chipped. I'd think a pro could restore it to listenable condition.
Let me know if you have any questions you think I can answer. I'm happy to respond.
"That's All Right" sold around 20,000 copies. This number was not enough to chart nationally, but the single reached number four on the local Memphis charts.
"That's All Right" was the first commercial single released by Elvis Presley, written and originally performed by blues singer Arthur Crudup. Presley's version was recorded on 5 July 1954, and released on 19 July 1954 with "Blue Moon of Kentucky" as the B-side. It is #112 on the 2004 Rolling Stone magazine list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
