Description

Here's a group of FIVE (5) 1950s "MUSIC ON DECK: YOUR NAVY PRESENTS THE CHAMPAGNE MUSIC OF LAWRENCE WELK" 33 RPM VINYL TRANSCRIPTION DISCS IN ORIGINAL PAPER SLEEVES.  Each record holds two different syndicated complete programs for 15-minute timeslots.  

These discs were distributed by the Navy to radio stations for airing at times convenient to the stations.  Each contains a recruiting pitch, and songs by the popular big band of LAWRENCE WELK.  One of the more attractive transcription label designs of all, showing a diver with a mermaid.  I have not listened to these specific discs so I can't describe the exact contents.

Included in this lot are the following 16-inch discs:

  • Programs 33B & 34B
  • Programs 37B & 38B
  • Programs 41B & 42B
  • Programs 51B & 52B
  • Programs 53B & 54B

See photos for a closer look.  The discs have been kept in paper sleeves for decades; the records appear to be in excellent condition with no visible damage.
