Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1966 ...RARE....ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS DUTCH GARAGE-BEAT EXPLOSION

"The PHANTOMS"
HOLLAND - DURECO RECORDS - 51.036 (MONO)
BOLD PUNCHY MONO !
Plays CLEAN !!
RARE Original 1966 first printing ... one of the highly rated top shelf collectibles from the fabulous Dutch sixties scream-teens scene...Most collectors know of the (Dutch) Outsiders, Q'65, The Motions, Group 1850, etc but more obscure and equally talented were the overlooked bands such as the Phantoms ...
The LP was issued in both Germany (Metronome) anf Holland (Dureco) - the Dutch issiue the harder and more desirable of the two issues.
And don't let the "preppy" group photo cover fool you - reckless teen abandon strikes here!
The LP is highlighted by - and you'd be hard pressed to EVER hear a more INTENSE explosive act than the Phantoms doing - ROADRUNNER. Hands down the best version anyone will ever hear, played like maniacs with roaring fuzz & full tilt dementia - this is the stuff legends were made of! "Roadrunner" is such a gas that it floored the cat who assembled all those PEBBLES garage rock 45's comps and HAD to be included among the USA obscurities , even IF the Phantoms were not a USA group!
To quickly overview the album in full, you get a solid selection of Dutch beat-rock raves and infectious moody rock gems. Incidentally, this is one of those great Lp's from the era that still hasn't been 'found-out' by the general collecting circuit, so one can get their hands on a copy for less than $200 or more, at this time. Speaking of catchy-moody melodies, the Phantoms selected "TORMENTED" as a 45 and the choice was a real winner - spending eight weeks in the Dutch top-teen charts, included here as the lead-off to this album.
Overall, the song styles run the course of mid period Kinks crank-ers, to the Beatles infections and on to early Tages & Shanes rumblers i.e. similar obscure continental greatness that is/was. That being said, The Phantoms retain their own stamp which gets high marks of approval i.e. the "now" happening sounds of '66 coolness...
