We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Rare and sought 1972 ORIGINAL in nice gatefold cover...never released in the USA, this is the second Thin Lizzy album back when they were a beginning hard psych & melodic folk hippie trio showcasing their decidely best works as an 'underground' act blowing away small crowds in clubs around the United Kingdom..."Shades Of A Blue Orphange" unfolds their early brillance....

The title comes from the former bands of Lizzy's members -- guitarist Eric Bell played in "Shades of Blue" while drummer Brian Downey and Phil Lynott played in "Orphanage". We defy anyone to tell us that "Buffalo Gal", "Baby Face", or any of the other epic jams on this album are anything short of perfection. Phil Lynott is the center attraction, highlighting the album on his Lucite bass, wearing bell-bottoms-and-platform-shoes, with massive afro, and delivering his chicken-legged best. Rest in peace, dude.
Things get off to a roaring start with "The Rise and Dear Demise of the Funky Nomadic Tribes," which segues from progressive rock-derived staccato unison riffing into a funk-guitar workout influenced by Jimi Hendrix. From there it's on to "Buffalo Gal," a melancholy folk-ish plaint that anticipates the working class Irish poetry Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott would develop to great effect later in the '70s; other stylistic jams include stabs at faux rockabilly ("I Don't Want to Forget How to Jive"), Mellotron-drenched melodics (the title tune), and even a sort of visionary art-hardrocker ("Call the Police). Pretty amazing stuff all throughout.
