Norman Granz's elaborate limited edition set THE JAZZ SCENE from 1949 was the ultimate deluxe jazz production of its time, the Rolls Royce of jazz albums. Each was numbered and signed by Granz. This is set # 1691.
Six 12" 78s featuring complete sides by Duke Ellington (2), Neal Hefti (2), Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, Ralph Burns, George Handy, Charlie Parker, Willie Smith, Machito and Bud Powell. These are E or EE- with a few superficial small scratches or scuffs.
An assortment of 12 x 5 photos by Gjon Mili of all the artists in the set, printed on heavy paper and bound in a loose leaf binder along with the record sleeves.
Norman Granz's personally autographed and numbered header sheet with notes by Granz for each session.
