Description
This record grades about VG+/VG++ condition . This is one of the rarest Blues/Jazz Records from the 1920s.. Here's the story: Kid Ory in June 1922 recorded four sides for the California label Nordskog, but was angry when they failed to credit Ory's Band on the label ,but instead , used a pseudonym "Spikes Seven Pods of Pepper ". So Ory bought a hundred copies or so and had his own label made up ,giving him credit for the recording, and pasted the "Sunshine" label over the Nordskog label. Obviously this makes the label super rare as well.This is one of two records in existance with this label.. The other is Sunshine 3003, 2 sides by Kid Ory's Orch. Both Nordskog and Sunshine are extremely rare.
Where does he find these treasures?
These are my grades ,E-,VG++,VG+,VG,VG-,G+......Highest to lowest for 78s.I only use E or E+ when the record looks new and unplayed or perfect.E- or indeed VG++ are very close to perfect and will be more than satisfactory to discerning collectors.
All 78s will be packed between 4 cardboard squares and boxed professionally with insulation to guarantee safe delivery.
