Description
This is a fine copy from a numbered, limited edition 1997 reissue of a rare local comp of songs by six Illinois groups (thus the LP's title), originally released in 1968. All six of the groups are very obscure: only one of them seems to have appeared on another release besides this one (and that was another local comp). The music is mostly garage-pop with light psych touches -- a pleasant artifact from the period. This copy is from the second of two pressings of 500 copies (the first was on purple marbled vinyl). These two pressings are to date the only ones to reissue the LP in any format. The record is housed in a plain white jacket with cover slicks pasted on the front and back covers. Both the jacket and the slicks are close to pristine (M-). (It's worth noting that the slicks are on the wrong sides of the jacket, i.e., the front slick is on the side of the jacket that opens on the left instead of the right, and vice versa.) The gray marbled vinyl disc is clean; the source disc plays with some light surface noise. Graded visually, M-. This copy is #292/500.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
