AC / DC : High Voltage A-5 / B-3 Early Repress 1978 (Australia)
This second Australian repress from 1978 plays to the highest standard possible, it is just stunning.  There is no interference, no background at all and sonically it is phenomenal.  The clarity, depth and power of the audio is outstanding and the only 'thing' I can say really is the final track on S1 has just a minor touch of inner groove distortion but as detailed below it is so so minimal, it scarcely warrants a mention.  The vinyl itself has no spindle wear and it plays like it has never been on a turntable before, I can't recommend it highly enough!  I do not want to labour the point but it is so rare for this pressing to play with such clean and precise audio.  It is without doubt a FINAL UPGRADE archive classic.
The cover is in superb condition and has only minimal wear, some minor creasing that is all.  It has been so well preserved over the last 48 years.  It was issued with only a pvc inner and that remains in excellent condition.
It may not be a first pressing but it is still very collectable in its own right as it is one of the early versions with the blue Albert labels with the yellow rim and of course features a very different track listing compared to the international release.  'Baby, Please Don't Go' on the S1 label is now credited to Joe Williams but on the back cover it is still credited to Broonzy.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and has clearly been very well looked after and hardly played.  There are no scratches but under a bright light you can see some hazing on S1 and there is barely any on S2.  This is purely superficial as it has no impact on the superb audio and you can only see it when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle.  Under 'normal' lighting the vinyl is pristine!  I cannot even locate any hairlines and there is obviously no groove or surface wear.  The blue Albert labels are immaculate with no marking or spindle wear.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 is very clean and then the fast paced intro on 'Baby Please Don't Go' plays perfectly as does Bon Scott's opening vocal section.  It continues in the same precise way with great power and definition and no interference.  The brief silence at the halfway point a case in point, there is no background.  The following instrumental / vocal section is stunning and the remainder is equally as strong and clear.  From start to finish the clarity of sound is superb and I only noticed one minor static.  Let's say Mint-
The intro on 'She's Got Balls' is so clean and has no background aside from a couple of background statics which you could easily miss as they are so quiet.  The opening vocal is 'as new' and from then on the standard does not drop.  As per the first track it plays like it has never been played before.  The quieter (slightly!) section plays with sublime clarity and to the final note there is nothing to detract from the audio.  There is just an overwhelming sense of pristine audio with a power and depth to match.  Stunning and a great track.  Mint-
'Little Lover' also impresses on every level.  The intro is flawless and then every vocal and instrumental passage play with imperious quality.  I can't praise it highly enough - once again the power and definition is phenomenal and the clarity is 10/10, I cannot fault it.  The 5 second silence near the end has not even a dust tick can you believe and the closing instrumental is basically perfect with just one very quiet tick right at the end of the fade out.  Mint- is again fair.
The intro on 'Stick Around' has no intrusion and the first vocal is just as strong.  It proceeds in much the same way.  There is just a hint of inner groove distortion but it's the final track so in a way should be expected.  However, it is so minimal and does not detract from what is a superb listen - the mid instrumental is a prime example of that.  I'm just too honest for my own good and I often wonder why I mention said distortion!  100% non-intrusive and the sonic quality from the first note to the last is hugely impressive.  Mint-
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The long intro on 'Soul Stripper' plays with wonderful clarity.  In fact I cannot overstate just how clean and sharply defined the music is -  I mean not only is there literally no background but the 'sound' is crystal clear and it's no exaggeration to say it plays 'as new'.  The opening vocal / chorus is of the same high end standard and it continues to play with breathtaking sonic quality.  You can can turn it up to max and it has no affect on the audio, no distortion etc.  The solos play with amazing quality and Bailey's bass sound is so deep and resonant.  Every section is perfect and even the quiet 'conclusion' has no intrusion.  This is MINT and then some!
The intro on 'You Ain't Got A Hold On Me' keeps up the standard and the first chorus is just as strong.  This 'level' is kept up as it progresses and again there are no ticks, clicks or pops.  I noticed only a handful of barely audible statics that really don't need a mention!  Mint- is richly deserved.
The intro on 'Love Song' has a very progressive feel especially on the first section and it plays with stunning clarity and definition.  Bon Scott's more restrained vocal plays with exceptional clarity and warmth and every aspect of this classic is quite simply stunning.  It's good to see a different side to them and it just could not play with any greater precision.  A harder end vocal but certainly not lacking in quality.  From start to finish there is not even a dust tick and that includes the long fade out.  A superb Mint version.
'Show Business' ends this fine debut album with phenomenal power throughout and of course there is no interference.  Sonically it is so strong for a final track and there is no inner groove distortion here.  It's a powerhouse of a track with Bon Scott adding his class.  It could not play any better and Mint is the only grade I can give.  What an album!
The Cover & PVC Inner
The cover is in superb condition with hardly any shelf wear and certainly nothing obvious.  The edges and spine are so clean with zero marking and all four corners are in exceptional condition also.  The opening edge is pristine and the front cover looks perfect at first glance.  Only when you look very closely can you see a couple of minor creases next to the spine.  There is also a small sticker removal mark top right but it is very faint.  The back cover is almost as impressive with little creasing and a couple of indent marks by the bottom right corner.  A stunning example overall though.
The original pvc inner just has some creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
