Alice Cooper
'Billion Dollar Babies'
Warner Brothers, UK, 1973
K 56013
THERE IS no getting away from it - the Alice Cooper Band were on a massive roll at this time in their career. It seemed like they could do no wrong as every album was systematically better than the last and Billion Dollar Babies is no exception. Just look at the song selection including 'Elected', 'I Love The Dead', 'Sick Things', 'Hello Hooray' and the title track itself - it's like a greatest hits album!
This is a hard to find original pressing on the Green Warner Brothers label, with the cardboard inner lyric sleeve, diecut postcards intact and the original huge folded dollar bill! Most copies I've ever seen have always had the bill missing and the post cards removed.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Warner Brothers, France, 1973 - Green label
Vinyl: Only light signs of use. A few spindle marks on labels and some extremely faint scuff visible due to sliding in and out of the cardborad inner sleeve. Grades as top Ex+
Cover: Again, virtually no signs of any use. Housed in a beautifully designed embossed gatefold 'unipak' style diecut cover with the original sheet of postcards intact and the often missing dollar bill tucked into the wallet! Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight and stiff. Impossible to find like this after 43 years. Grades as top MINT-!
Inserts: Cardboard printed lyric inner sleeve.
Matrix:
Side One: K 56013 A1
Side Two: K 56013 B1
