Description
I am parting with some of my treasured LPs. Here's an amazing first press record from 2012 Cat # HMRLP-01. Arthur Lee and LOVE released some amazing LPs in the 60's and early 70's. His first 2 LPs were highly influential on bands like The Doors, and Jimi Hendrix. Forever Changes has become one of the great Seminal LPs of the 60's, creating a mood and feel that became as classic as it was cool. However, as great as his LPs were, and as explosive as their live performances were, the record company was only looking at sales. By the 70's Lee was begging, borrowing, and doing anything to get his music recorded moving record companies. In the midst of it all Lee, and Jimi Hendrix had always wanted to form a band together of only black musicians. That plan was thwarted when Jimi died, but Lee would follow through and record Black Beauty in 1973. It was never released, and in 2011, when a new upstart record company wanted to make a huge splash with a first release, they unearthed Arthur Lee's Black Beauty for release. It got a record store day release in 2012, and was limited to only 5,000 copies. This is one. It's a great addition to Arthur Lee's catalog, and is amazing.
The LP is in beautiful MINT condition with full shine, and plays great. Basically as new, with not a minor blip to be found anywhere. The cover is still in shrink, and with the HYPE STICKERS. The original inner is perfect, as is the 26 page full color booklet. An overall great copy that plays awesomely as new.
I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY. I AM POSTING SOME TREASURES. SOME ARE RARE AND COLLECTIBLE, AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT ALBUMS LIKE THIS ONE IS.
