LP-Title: Siri's Svale Band - Blackbird

Original German pressing for the Norwegian label SONOR Records, SON LP 2001. Recorded in Trondheim, Norway in 1990, at that time released only on CD. The recording has such an amazing audiophile soundquality, that with the help of German high-end enthusiast Jörg Kessler ( of the ARS company ) in the year 2001 finally a limited high quality 180 Gram vinyl-issue was released.

The band has a unique line-up: there is NO chordal or harmonic instrument like a piano or a guitar. Instead of this, there are 2 bass-players, one of them often plays chords or sound-effects, thus blending acoustic & electric sounds; the drummer also mixes acoustic and tasty & sparse electronic sounds. The baritone-sax adds another low frequency, above this Siris female vocals are impressive & intimate, the bands versions of the tunes are fresh and outstanding. The bass sonics are overwhelming, it has never been more righteous to say that the whole record sounds “ as if the band would perform in your room ”. Much more thrilling than the band's second album “ It Ain't Necessarily so “, wich I found a little dissapointing. “Blackbird” is, concerning both sound and music, among my top-5 audiophile vocaljazz-records.

Condition: the record looks & plays in mint-. The cover is still in its original shrink and is in mint-.

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
