AUTOGRAPHED FRANK SINATRA PROMO RECORD - this incredible item is a 12" shellac promo for the songs "Stormy Weather" and "Ol' Man River"; the catalog numbers on the labels are XCO 33934 and XCO 33935; it was released as Columbia 55037 in 1944 or 1945. The label reads in part "Orchestra under the direction of Axel Stordahl" and"This record not for sale". The signature is beautiful, clear and unsmudged, written in black fountain pen ink on the Story Weather side: "Best Wishes / Frank Sinatra"; the ink and signature look genuine. In 2012, another record like this was auctioned on the Heritage Auction site and sold for $875.
Condition is VG+ (the shellac is so clean it almost looks unplayed, except for a soft 2-inch scuff and some very minimal sleeve scuffs, but it does have the beginning of a crack - it appears only on the Stormy Weather side, above and slightly to the right of the top of the label; it runs about 2 inches through the deadwax as a hairline, then the next inch reaches up into the track, where you can obviously feel it, then it forks into two hairlines that fade away while still 3 and 4 inches from the outer edge; the signature is beautiful and clean).

Maybe I should mention that the one that sold in 2012 was also cracked, worse than this one I believe, and the signature was smeared. This one is better! It is already sealed flat between 4 sheets of cardboard - just the first step of the process of wrapping this properly for safe delivery to the lucky winner.
