AWESOME:
Clark Terry –
PORTRAITS –
Chesky JR-2 –
RARE AUDIOPHILE JAZZ!

If you love to hear jazz happening right in your listening room, pull up a listening chair.

This is audiophile David Chesky’s fine audio capture of Clark Terry on trumpet and flugelhorn, Don Friedman on piano, Victor Gaskin on bass, and Lewis Nash on drums.

Keep in mind from the get-go, that minimalist techniques are used throughout the recording process, all mastered by Tim de Paravicini and John Dent on a custom built all-tube cutting system.

Fabulous selections include PENNIES FROM HEAVEN, FINGER FILIBUSTER, JIVE AT FIVE, I CAN’T GET STARTED, CIRIBIRIBIN, and LITTLE JAZZ, among others.  Each very tasty sounding and very, very transparent. (At times there is so much presence in Terry’s trumpet, the hair on your arms stands.)

Great copy, too: Cover without fault; heavy platter inside is near mint.

Worthy of the finest vinyl library.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $16 via airmail for the first LP, $4 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
