An original 1st issue of LITTD on UK Warners. Matrix 1A/1B. Let's just qualify this... Very early 1st press can be obtained on 'Straight Ahead Records' - these are very scare and highly sought after. As the album hit the charts Alice switched to Warners and green label Warners copies appeared on the shelves very quickly. But how do we identify/distinguish those 1st issue copies that come immediately after the switch from SA to Warners? Well, there's two indicators. Number one - the deadwax should hold the SA catalogue and the new Warners one [as this copy does]. The earliest green label Warners copies should also NOT exhibit 'Made In The UK'. Why should you go for these copies? Well, this is the closest you're ever going to get to a SA without shelling out serious $$$. These copies will sound equally good and are pressed on lovely heavy vinyl. Consequently they're going to sound fabbo. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original generic white inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only ever seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely trouble some. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one tiny deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A very fine player with very little sign of background at all. Clean throughout even into the quiet moments. Maybe just a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. I detected a couple of very minor ticks in the super quiet middle of 'Black Ju Ju' [no big deal]. A truly superb rendition. I think it really offers the best bang for buck of any copy. "My Body" - is just a total blast! Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex/Ex-) Very difficult to find in top level condition as that front nearly always gets worn. But this copy is looking very spritely - and that front image is looking very very unfettered. Smooth to the touch and exhibiting no surface wear it is looking a real treat. The interior is looking very fine with just a couple of very minor blemishes - much better than you typically find. The rear has avoided much of the ageing process. I'm still seeing some light handling and a couple of blemished - still pretty good though. There's very little edge wear for this title. The spine is 100% intact - that is extremely unusual. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
