Description

An original late-1st issue of LITTD on UK Warners. Matrix A1/B1 [1st cut]. Let's just qualify this... Very 1st press can be obtained on 'Straight Records' from summer '71 - these copies are scarce and highly sought after. As the album climbed the charts Warners, who were ultimate owners, started producing green label Warner copies [circa autumn '71 due to the Kinney takeover]. But how do we identify/distinguish those 1st issue copies that come immediately after the switch? Well, there are TWO indicators. Number one - the deadwax should hold the SR catalogue and the new Warners number [as this copy does]. The earliest green label Warners copies should also NOT exhibit 'Made In The UK'. Why should you go for these copies? Well, this is the closest you're ever going to get to a SR without shelling out serious $$$. These copies will sound equally good and are pressed on lovely heavy vinyl. In fact, they're going to sound FABBO. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original generic white inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only ever seen very slight use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. An absolute cracking copy - it has everything you'd want for this title. Heavy and raw - but clean throughout to appreciate all the low-key theatrics. Maybe just a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. And one solitary tick in 2nd Coming. Even the quiet mad drumming / chanting sections of  'Black Ju Ju' play really clean [surprisingly so!]. A truly superb rendition - would very difficult to match let alone better,
Cover (Ex-) In truly remarkable condition with a perfectly flat and clean front panel. It retains total rigidity and exhibits no surface wear or dulling in the image [smooth to the touch]. The rear has avoided most of the ageing process - just faintest traces. The interior is looking pretty much perfect. There's hardly any edge wear. The spine is 100% perfect. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. An absolute beaut!
