Former members of the All Saved Freak Band !
This is a rare Christian music 45RPM promo record released in 1984 on the Hope Star label. This 45 RPM is by The Magi ( former members of the All Saved Freak Band )
This record has 2 songs. The Lord's Prayer and Children Who Are Crying Inside
On The Lord's Prayer, 6 different languages are spoken near the end of the song.
The Lord's Prayer, with it's eerie beat, will remind you of The All Saved Freak Band's music.
The All Saved Freak Band was the musical outreach of Larry Hill's church. Both Kim Massmann and Larry Hill, former members of the band, play on this record.
Record played very clean on my turntable. Only a few small scuffs.
To those of you unfamiliar with the All Saved Freak Band, I'll quote from The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music by Mark Alan Powell: " One of the most original bands in the history of contemporary Christian music... Phil Keaggy supposedly played with the group before joining Glass Harp..." Glenn Schwartz, of the band Pacific Gas and Electric, was also a member of the band.
All Saved Freak Band released some Christian psychedelic albums in the 70's.
The sleeve has wear, creases and discoloration from age ( see pic ). To quote from the sleeve, " from the caterpillar came this beautiful butterfly; The Magi." Supposedly the songs on this 45 were released on a full length album titled Girlflower. I've never seen or heard of this album. Does it exist ??
