For sale ... a beautiful 1st pressing of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass (1970). Excellent condition for its age.
This is a true 1st press with: Large, deep box with 'Made And Printed In Great Britain' credit. Made in Great Britain poster. -1U matrixes on all LPs. Textured, coloured inner sleeves. No Eric Clapton credit on guitars.
Not to be confused with the much more common 2nd pressing where the box and poster were printed in the USA - and Clapton is credited. This is much rarer.
I bought this from a private collector a few years ago and have barely played it. This is a great chance to bag a wonderful album in terrific condition (one of the best I've seen).
THE BOX is very good; thick and deep with the hinge still working (meaning the top and bottom lids are still attached). There is just a tiny amount of age-related wear to the corners and odd spots of discolouration to the front cover. But that's to be expected with an item of this age and certainly nothing too distracting - a lot better condition than the vast majority - if not all(!) - of the other copies I've seen. The inside of the box has the 'Made In And Printed Great Britain' text, no credit for Eric Clapton (who was listed on guitar in subsequent versions), and is plain white on the right-hand side - another sign of a first pressing (2nd pressings are orange on both sides)
THE POSTER is in very good condition; no rips, tears, sellotape or blu-tac marks. Obviously never displayed. It has 'Printed In Great Britain' on the bottom right.
THE INNER SLEEVES are good. They're textured and coloured (purple, grey, mustard). Each has a slight amount of age-related wear and light creasing here and there, but no rips or tears.
THE LPs are excellent. They all play cleanly through, with nice labels and very few - or no - hairline marks. They look like they've only been played a handful of times. Each ends in a -1U matrix.
The stampers are 2/GPA, 3/GMG, 2/GMD, 2/GMM, 2/GRR, 3/GRP.
