ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful and quite rare LP from Capitol (P-18023, US pressing, green/gold label, mono, original inner sleeve included) entitled 'Cello Colours' features encores program by the great André Navarra, recorded in London with pianist Jacqueline Dussol. In concept and execution it is no great exaggertion to suggest this album as the cello counterpart to Capitol's 'Mosaics' or 'Magic Bow' LPs by violinist Michael Rabin. Even the cover art is striking, and there have been few cello encore records more memorable than this, so magical is Navarra's phrasing and tone.
This remarkable recital has never been transferred to CD.

This remarkable album was first issued on LP in 1956. There are informative liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in English only. The extraordinary cover art is similarly uncredited, alas.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There is minor wear and discoloration at corners and along the edges, as well as some discoloration to the rear panel. However, there are no bends, seamsplits, or owners' markings and the album remains solid, bright and glossy, the fine laminate finish perfectly intact – overall, a fine collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Although surfaces are not absolutely silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT), really this is a very fine copy and playback is truly superb. However, if you must have absolutely perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a very fine collector's copy.
