Art Blakey on Blue Note 1554

 

This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm, Volume 1” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1554.  The flat rim playing surface is flawless, as new, with a high luster; perhaps played once.  The laminated West 63rd St (serif) cover is in near-new condition, virtually flawless throughout.

 

Personnel include Ray Bryant, Art Taylor, Sabu, Jo Jones, Specs Wright, and Wendell Marshall.
