Description
This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop & R&B 10" 78's. There are quite a few on Atlantic, a nice group of Peacock and some other great records. Almost all of these came from the collection of a 1950's Yale radio DJ. Across the board, they have been played very little.
Here's the info on this item:
Release: The Four Sharps - Don't Ask Me Why / I Can Hardly Wait
Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record
Year: 1949
Notes: Red & black label first pressing. The only record by this "group" that was the Delta Rhythm Boys under a different name. This is their first record for Atlantic and was recorded under a different name due to an existing contract with Decca. This is early doo-wop with a simple guitar backing.
Record Condition: E+, The record itself is in really nice shape & plays very well, doesn't seem to have been played much at all. There is one small scuff on I Can side, but no other marks, great surface. Sound is clean and clear. Labels are also very clean with no writing/tears/scuffs. This is a really nice copy overall.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in a box marked "Fragile" for maximum protection.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item. If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
