Mega Rare 606-1 Press with 'Remix 11' of Tomorrow Never Knows!
This listing is for an extremely rare and highly collectable mono copy of the Beatles LP 'Revolver'. This particular pressing carries the side 2 matrix number of XEX 606-1 which indicates that this copy features 'remix 11' of the final track 'Tomorrow Never Knows'.
The story goes that the album was finalised and ready to go and the group all received a copy from the production line. John listened to his copy and was apparently unhappy with the final track, either with it's mix or that the wrong mix had been used. He informed George Martin who halted production as the correct mix was added and new master plates were cut, then production continued. Common presses feature 'Remix 8' of Tomorrow Never Knows and features the much more common '606-2' matrix number for side 2.
It's said that production of the 606-1 copies only lasted an afternoon and, today, are extremely difficult to find.
This is a very nice, respectable example of this mega-rare LP!

Title Revolver Year of Release 1966 Catalogue Number PMC 7009 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with 'Sold in UK' Statement and 'Gramophone' rimtext Tax Code on Disc KT Sleeve Manufacturer Ernest J. Day Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 605-2 Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 606-1 Side 1 Stampers 3 / L Side 2 Stampers 1 / M Cover Condition The cover is in EX condition. It's holding up beautifully and is looking in remarkably good shape for its age! The front cover is lovely and clean with a thick laminate. There are just a couple of little, light knocks here and there and a touch of light disc impression and laminate rubbing. The spine edge looks to have browned everso slightly. The edges are beautifuly sharp with just a few tiny little creases running through the laminate. The top and bottom seams are perfect and sharp. The spine has a few little laminate bubbles but is holding perfect with no splits or tears. The mouth edge is still wonderfully sharp and crisp. The back is very clean with just a very light disc impression in the black near to the mouth edge, where there is also a very light browning. The overflaps are holding tight with just the bottom right corner experiencing a small tear as you can see in the photo below. Overall, looking remarkable! Inner Sleeve Condition - Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in VG+/EX- condition. The disc has a really nice shine to it and looks very clean. It looks like there is a little, light residue from a previous owner's clean - I'll let the auction winner decide whether or not they want to try and tidy that up. There are just some light, faint little scuffs here and there and, overall, the disc looks very tidy. Nice example! Label Condition The labels are in EX+ condition. The labels are clean with no writing, tears, stickers etc. and have bright, silver text. The side 2 label looks to have a few, light little patches of powdery residue but the side 1 label is clean. Both have just a little, light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. Overall, very nice labels!
