The Beatles - 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' LP. PMC 7027

The Beatles 1967 UK 2nd MONO pressing of the 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' LP. This very rare pressing has the LABEL ERROR of missing off the track A DAY IN THE LIFE from the side two vinyl label. It also comes housed within the original TWO PRINTING ERRORS sleeve.

It is offered here in STUNNING EXCELLENT+ condition and FULLY COMPLETE with mono spelling error vinyl, spelling error gatefold mono sleeve, cutout insert and patents pending inner sleeve. It would be very, very hard to locate a finer copy than this.

As mentioned above when EMI/Parlophone were pressing this in late 1967 to cope with huge demand for the LP they somehow missed the track ‘A DAY IN THE LIFE’ from the track listing on side two of the vinyl label. When this was noticed relatively quickly production was stopped and the error corrected. It is not known how many slipped through quality control but they rarely turn up for sale, especially in this condition!

This particular copy also has TWO PRINTING ERRORS on the rear sleeve. The track ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ is incorrectly listed as ‘A Little Help From My Friends’. It is spelt correctly on the vinyl label. The first line of the lyrics are also printed wrong as the song DOES NOT begin with the line “A Little Help From My Friends” as printed here but begins “What would you think if I sang out of tune”.

Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label both vinyl labels feature the 'Sold in the UK....' text and have 'The Gramophone Co Ltd....' rim print. Both sides of the vinyl still have the very earliest matrix number for this release - XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1. This comes complete with the correct 1967 mono gatefold sleeve, cut out insert sheet (unused) and correct patents pending inner sleeve (no red/white inner came with this pressing).

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. XEX 637-1 37 MRH

Side 2. XEX 638-1 2 MMP

The vinyl is in EXCELLNT+ condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition.

The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition.

The inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition. I will include an additional inner sleeve to protect the original.

The insert is in MINT- condition. Unused.

This LP will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK recorded postage is: £4.55. EU recorded postage is: £12.95. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £18.95. Combined, reduced postage is available.
