BEATLES LP MONO WITH THE BEATLES Y/B PARLOPHONE PMC 1206 EX+/EX
On offer is The BEATLES LP entitled WITH THE BEATLES released in the UK in mono on yellow-black PARLOPHONE PMC 1206 in 1963 which is in lovely to EXCELLENT /EX+ condition. The LP has been very well looked after and has been kept by me in a plastic sleeve for over 30 years which has ensured it has kept its fresh look.
This is the 2nd press MONO identified by the following criteria:
The disc has the Dominion /Belinda credit for ‘Money’. / THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD. text is around the rim. / The disc is without ‘Sold in UK’… text. / The label has RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963. / Side 1 Track 3 now spelt ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’. / On the front cover there is a large – mono – IN BOLD LETTERING. / The flip-back sleeve is manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse. / The disc has the original, correct ‘Use Emitex’ inner. / The matrix numbers of the disc are: XEX 447–5N and XEX 448–5N respectively.
The description of this LP is as follows –
• The disc is visually in beautiful EX+ condition – with a lovely sheen and clear, clean vinyl on both sides. There are a couple of minor surface hairlines on each side of the disc: none of these affects play.
• The disc sounds superb throughout. I have just test played the disc for the first time in many years and it plays excellently with a full dynamic range on my BOSE hi-fi. The disc is very silent between tracks: which always indicates a good quality disc!
• The labels are also in nice EX condition on both sides.
• The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd - earliest 'Patents Pending' laminated flip-back picture sleeve front cover - is in a nice EX condition: with only minor creasing.
• The white (non-laminated) back cover is very clean and has some foxing / browning with age – and some ring wear visible - but this is not extensive or unsightly: as you can see from the scans.
• The spine is in nice condition. The LP title on the spine – With The Beatles – is clearly readable and all edges and corners of the spine and the cover are intact.
• The ‘Use Emitex’ inner (in nice EX condition) is the correct one for this 1963 LP. This inner no longer houses the disc which is now kept in a new plain white inner to protect the disc and the original inner. Both inners will – of course - be supplied to the winner.
Overall this is a really LOVELY Beatles 2nd Press MONO LP – With the Beatles on Y/B Parlophone… that has been well looked after over the years as part of my personal collection.
