Here's your chance to own one of the first Beatles' records and probably one of the most sought after collector's item.

Listed is the very hard to find and authenic Beatles - Please Please Me/From Me To You oval, rainbow label #498 on Vee Jay records.

For those who collect Beatles records, they know this variation to be one of the 3 variants pressed by Vee Jay for label 498.

Here's some info on this label variation (see pictures also):

1. Oval, rainbow label

2. thin font title

3. misspelled "THE BEATTLES"

4. has the number symbol (#) in front of label number 498

5. in dead wax area contains: hand etched matrix numbers, clearly visible "audiomatrix", "RA" is also hand etched

6. NO "ARP" or "Monarch (MR)" pressing plant stamps in dead wax area, which means this record was pressed at the Jacksonville plant. Take note It is estimated  that less than 7,500 copies in total of ALL the label variations of VJ498 were pressed. This includes Oval or Brackets Labels and the Double "T" or One "T" in the group's name.

This is an excellent copy too!!! Lots of gloss to vinyl grooves. No writing marks of any kind on either side of label. If I were to grade this, a conservative VG+ would be appropriate. I'm using the Goldmine Standard for value grading here. If your not familiar with this grading, I'll list the highest grade to lowest grade straight from the Tim Neely Goldmine Price Guide books for record prices. Near mint, very good plus (VG+), very good (VG), good (G), and poor.

You don't see this label variation come up for auction here on Ebay especially in this condition. Be aware, I have placed a very high reserve on this rare item. So, bid often and hopefully you can be the lucky winner at the end.
