GERMAN IMPORT PARLOPHONE  # PHO-7027

NEAR MINT CONDITION!

*Please take the time to read this entire listing and look at all of the pictures, so you are fully aware of what you are buying!! Thank you!

For sale is this German Import on Parlophone Records # PHO-7027 issue of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP; Limited Edition Picture Disc. This Picture Disc was made in West Germany and released in 1978. This German version has different graphics than the American Capitol version. It has an extended view of the original Sgt Pepper cover on both sides of the disc, whereas the American version has the Sgt Pepper drum head on side # 2. Also this German pressing has etched into the dead wax on side 1: "FOR GEORGE AND MABEL, and on side 2: "ANOTHER WINNER FROM ERNIE".

Who George, Mabel and Ernie are is unknown however it is speculated that George and Mabel are George Harrison and his then wife Patty. The name Mabel is also in the song lyric of "Badge" which was written by George Harrison and Eric Clapton "I told you 'bout our kid, now he's married to Mabel". Perhaps Patty's nickname was "Mabel".

CONDITION: This Picture disc comes with the plastic inner sleeve only. It does not come with the cardboard jacket. It grades NEAR MINT MINUS.
