BEATLES UK, Let it Be LP, early UK issue, 2U/3U, transitional matrix and labels.

PCS 7096, original UK 1970 Apple record labels.

An early UK issue from 1970 in original condition, featuring:

1. the record label on side one features a transitional record label as it still retains its original ‘dark green’ apple colour but it features a ‘narrower’ Sans Serif’ font. The record label on side two features the ‘regular’, ‘wider’, ‘Sans Serif’ font. The ‘dark green’ labels were soon to be changed to a lighter green colour as it was thought that the text on the dark green labels was too difficult to read,

2. a transitional UK matrix of, 2U / 3U,

3. an original period ‘thin’ spine,

4. comes with its original period, plain white EMI inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition. The sleeve is fully laminated. The original period ‘thin’ spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained very clean and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve are in excellent++ condition and have remained clean and sharp. The four corners of the sleeve are in excellent+ condition and have remained clean and sharp for their age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period, plain white EMI inner sleeve with the text ‘Patent no, 1,125,555’. The two opening edges are in excellent condition, a clean and well preserved original inner sleeve for its age. The sleeve is made from the period, thick grade quality paper and the inside of the sleeve has a ‘textured’ surface. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on it. There is a slight split to one of the side edges.

THE RECORD: each side is in excellent++ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick’, heavy vinyl. The condition of the playing surfaces have remained very dark and glossy and look almost like new, a well looked after record that ‘looks’ as if it has not been played very much.

The matrix are: YEX 773 – 2 U and YEX 774 – 3 U,

The mother / stampers are: ‘1 7 GDT’ and ‘2 RDR’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays near MINT, a near perfect audio, each side plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: each label is in excellent condition. As this is a very early UK issue, side one features a dark green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
