Description
BEATLES UK – Sgt Pepper, mis pressed label and sleeve, original mono.
PMC 7027 – black and yellow Parlophone labels.
A UK album in original condition, featuring:
1. a hard to find mis pressed copy, only printed in a very small number, as the record label on side two, the track ‘A day in the life’ has NOT been printed on the label !. It is hard to see how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory. One theory is, the track was banned by the BBC in 1967 in England, maybe it was that fact why the track was left off the label !. The reference to the track was never removed from the sleeve, so that theory seems unlikely !.
2. a very unusual sleeve variation, see photo, as on the photo of George Harrison it appears that he has a ‘red’ / black eye !, this is not present on regular sleeves !,
3. unusual for these labels, there is an additional ‘dot’ printed within the ‘Sold in UK’ etc text on side one, as it reads ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, it is fully laminated. The spine is in good++ condition, as there is some splitting / rubbing wear to the centre of the spine, so not all of the text on the spine is readable. An original UK mono ‘flipback’ gate fold sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To the front top, opening edge there is a 10mm tear and some rubbing edge wear to the front bottom edge.
THE INSERT: the green card insert in NOT present.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in good++ condition and is the period original plain white EMI, ‘Patents 1,125,555’ inner sleeve. The sleeve is made from the period, quality heavy grade paper. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is some splitting to the two side edges and to the bottom edge and some fraying and some small ‘nicks’ to the two opening edges.
THE RECORD: is in fair / good condition. The record is made from the period 1960s, thick, heavy vinyl.
The matrix are: XEX 637 – 1 and XEX 638 - 1,
The mother / stampers are: ‘ 3 7 M R H ’ and ‘ 2 M M P'.
THE AUDIO: the record has not been played by me.
THE LABELS: side one is in very good++ condition. Side two is in very good condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
